You can now enjoy Stein's Fish & Chips in his new takeaway and restaurant on the quay at Padstow.
Locals, journalists and chums gathered to celebrate the opening of Stein's Fish & Chips earlier this month and tucked into a lunch of monkfish, john dory or gurnard with chips and mushy peas.
Everybody loved the deep fried oysters in batter and scallops, an idea which Rick Stein brought back from Australia and New Zealand along with the practice of putting a slice of lemon with everything.
There is a restaurant with scrubbed wooden tables and a slate floor as well as the take away. House specials include moules frites, oysters, dressed crab and half pints of prawns. Desserts and a short wine and beer list in the restaurant are a great addition to cups of tea, sliced bread and butter and, of course chip butties.

Next door is Stein's Deli, newly revamped with three new take-away fridges, stocked with things like local ham, bacon, sausages and cheese and lots of their own products - fish pies, seafood thermidors and a new range of curry pastes and ready made dinners to cook at home.
You can find the top 30 most popular wines nearby at The Seafood Restaurant and local ciders and beers made by many a Food Hero from the West Country.
