As part of its 70th birthday celebrations, De Vecchi, one of Italy’s most creative and celebrated designers and silversmiths, is having its first ever UK exhibition in London.
Opening to the public on 15 September, this month-long event will feature the largest collection of De Vecchi objects outside Italy. It also marks the beginning of a new permanent showcase selling De Vecchi objects at Langfords in The London Silver Vaults.
Highlights of the exhibition will include the introduction of at least 15 silver De Vecchi objects never seen in the UK before. De Vecchi is also recreating three of its most celebrated pieces as limited editions. Only 19 will be made each year. Piero De Vecchi in 1957, the other two by Gabriele De Vecchi in 1960 and 1970, designed one.
“These designs are as contemporary as they were then,” comments Joel Langford who is excited to bring De Vecchi’s collection to the UK. “De Vecchi’s designs seem to have universal appeal with my customers no matter where in the world they come from. They appreciate De Vecchi’s bold experimentation and innovation and take pleasure in the often amusing and usually thought-provoking designs.”
