Adrian Fisher - the world's leading maze designer - has revealed his dark side with the opening of Europe's first ever horror-based maze attraction in Germany earlier this year.
Dorset-based Adrian has joined forces with Merlin Entertainments, the company behind the London Dungeon to build the new dark mirror-maze in the historic city of Hamburg.
Entitled 'The Labyrinth of the Lost', the maze condemns visitors to an indefinite stay in Hamburg's notorious house of correction. The mazeís echoing passageways are filled with eerie noises and contain living statues in costume to create a dark and sinister mood. An elaborate network of mirrors creates a dizzying series of optical illusions for what is, probably, the world's first horror-themed maze.
The six time Guinness World Record holder has created over 400 mazes in 23 countries, which have been visited by over 30 million visitors since 1979.
In July around 30 maize mazes - all designed by Adrian - will be cropping up and opening around the British Isles. This will be followed by a further 20 throughout the United States later in the year. Other Fisher-designed maize mazes will be appearing in Holland, Portugal, Canada and New Zealand.

Also, one of many new projects of Adrian Fisher's to open this year is Chateau de Thoiry, the most exciting new maze in France for over 100 years. With 9 bridges and 27 crossovers, it is the most complex and three-dimensional puzzle ever created in France since the French Revolution.
