This autumn Prescott & Mackay are moving their unique accessory design workshops from Dering Street to the newly opened Black Truffle retail premises at 52 Warren Street, London W1.
|
With courses on shoemaking, bag making, millinery, corsetry and tutu making for both professionals and enthusiastic amateurs, each subject is taught by expert tutors who actively work in their specialist fields.
Their new location now incorporates under one roof the teaching studios alongside a complementary environment retailing professionally produced accessories.
Tutors include:
:: Melissa Needham, founder of the course in 1997, who trained in costume design and footwear and is the woman behind the two Black Truffle accessories shops.
:: Leatherware specialist Lesley Taylor who has worked with Mulberry, the luxury refitting of a yacht and the London School of Fashion.
:: The renowned milliner Prudence who works with Yves Saint Laurent and Vivienne Westwood.
:: Paris Fashion Week shoe designer Chau Har Lee.
:: Theatre, film and TV costume designer Kit Reading.
The courses vary from a half day seminar on footwear at £79, to a two day soft bag making programme, five-day intensive shoemaking workshops, to 30 sessions over three terms in advanced shoemaking.
